Antibes is an old mediterranean town, with lovely houses and beautiful ramparts, built by the architect Vauban. The old town, which dates back to the fifth century BC, is a labyrinth of charming streets filled with shops, street cafes, restaurants, galleries, museums and churches within the town’s historic ramparts.
City of culture, tourism and history, Antibes Juan-les-Pins has something for everyone. It stages many prestigious international events, including the famous “Music at the Heart”, “Juan-les-Pins Jazz Festival”, the oldest in Europe, “Underwater Images World Festival”, and the renowned “Old Antibes Antique Fair”, and in August, the "Pyromelodic Festival" .
Antibes Juan-les-Pins is the second town in the department today and has the largest yachting harbour in Europe. Its economic development is centred around summer beach resort tourism, culture and sport as well as business interests and information technology in Sophia Antipolis.

Renovation of the Picasso Museum
The Chateau Grimaldi is now the Picasso Museum, named after the famous artist who stayed there at the end of the 1940s.
The museum was reopened in July 2008, and the whole collection reorganised (showing Picasso and other artists's works)

The beach resort of Juan-les-Pins was created in 1882. and the growth was initiated around 1920 by the wealthy American Frank Jay Gould and by the famous writer Scott Fitzerald.
The 25 kilometres of coastline contain creeks, escarpments, rocky areas, and fine sandy beaches. The Blue Flag flies over the beaches :
This ecoflag is awarded to towns with a sound environmental policy.
In the summer, Juan les Pins has a bustling night life and holds each year, an internationally famous Jazz festival. Just 15 minutes by train to Nice or Cannes.
